Today in my class, we talk about America in nowadays. Some of the reports was a shock for me when I heard about it. The following are some examples:
- Half of the Americans make at least USD$30,000 per year.
- During the next 40 years, half of the people born in the U.S. will be immigrants or their children.
- About 2/3 of adults in the U.S. are overweight, and almost 1/3 are obese.
- Every 2.5 minutes, someone somewhere in the U.S. is sexually assaulted.
- 1 in 6 U.S. women is victim of sexual assault.
- More than half of the rapes in the U.S. go unreported.
- Friends actors earn USD$125,000 per episode.
- Howard Stern earns every minutes what a policeman or a teacher earns 2 weeks.
- Most American mothers spend twice as much as time doing housework and taking care of children as fathers do.
- Massachusetts (the state that I staying) is the only state in the U.S. permits same-sex marriage.

Akira, I think is a real fact, they told by my professor. Yes, Friend actors really earn that much, they famous.
MA is a only state that have the permit, I never saw any same-sex marriage, but I went to a town that full of gay and lesbian, the town name is Provincetown.
