In 1789 George Washington was unanimously elected the first president of the United States. Among the founders of the US, he alone earned the title "Father of his country," in recognition of his leadership in the cause of American independence. With this monument the citizens of the US show their enduring gratitude and respect.
The following photos I took in different day and different time with the different sky background.
These 2 are the first day I was in DC:
These 2 are on the second day:
The first day we got there, there was no more ticket to enter to the top of the monument, so we went second day early in the morning, that day was 7'C, quite cold as you can see I wore a sweater compare to the 1st day. After line up for 30 minutes, finally we got the ticket to the top.
The elevator took us to the 500-foot level for spectacular views of the city. The views from the top of the monument across Washington are stunning!!
WEST View. From this point you can see the Lincoln Memorial. (the white one in the center)
SOUTH View. From this point you gotta see the Jefferson Memorial. (the white one in the center)
EAST View. That is US Capital in the middle and all the museums are located on both side along the mall. I love DC because there have many good museum with Free entrance. And they all just located next to each others.
NORTH View. There is the White House. So bad I don't met the president when I was visiting there. If not I can take picture with Bush. Haha.. :D
