Countdown at New York Time Square (Ball Drop)

Countdown at New York Time Square for new year and see the ball drop is the biggest countdown in the world. More than million people were gather in Time Square.

Since it will have so many people at there, to be able to see the ball drop, we have to get there very early. We got there 8 hours before the mid night.

Security check before we get in the area.

I had a horrible experience about it, as you can see the temperature was 19'F (-7'C). We stood under the freezing cold weather for 8 hours with no toilet. At the last hour, I almost wanna gave up... But I made it!! I am so proud of myself!! And luckily I had a sweet memory about it too...

We all wrapped like a dumplings (bak chang). But still feel cold. My fingers and feet were frozen!!

I sat on the floor when my feet really hurt.

Got this 2009 countdown video clip from YouTube. As you can see a lot of people at there. Try to find me lah! (Just Kidding!! It is impossible! haha.. )

** I won't recommend you to go. But once in the life time experience is fine. No more next time for me. Even you will pay me thousand to go there!! :p

Hey, I was in New York too!!(will blog about it later) I was there since x'mas day, but I left on the 29th and continued my trip in other places. So didn't manage to stay till new year, coz the hotels were almost all full. Anyway that looks like a great experience!

Hi Kikey! You have so many Asian friends in the US? cool...

What you related here is exactly what my sis told me, she was also there in the afternoon and waited for 6 hrs and gave up haha! So you gals managed to countdown at Times Sq? What an experience! I didn't know it requires so much strength to wait till the last min of 2008 in the extremely cold weather! I heard ppl brought bottles to pee there...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Selamat malam, Kikey Loo. You celebrated hari Tahun Baru with all those people while I contented to lie in bed and listen to the noise outside....

I called Jakarta, and heard the New Year at jam 9 pagi.... and was not in mood for a party.

Hope you liked the experience...

that is why some of the locals don't really go to time square to join the countdown. but nonetheless, its worth trying at least once. i did.:)
