Londoners Oh Londoners~~

Dear Londoners,

Snowing is fun and nice. But when it's snow, you guys like facing a big challenge. Why? Because you guys never prepared for snow.

Only the main road been plowed. Car couldn't drive on back road. Driving on the snow is tough. But it could be better if the road been plow.Trains and tubes was either delayed or canceled. When people couldn't drive, and the public transport also rubbish. Then how could people can get out from the house.

Side walk never been plow. How pedestrians suppose to walk? especially oldies and children!

I never faced those problems when I was in US.

Londoners oh Londoners please learn from others how to manage everything when it's snowing.

~ From a girl who moved from Boston to London.

Life is like that when you don't have it you want it and when you get it and came too much then you prefer not to have it. Lots of us, me no exception love snow as we are from tropical, sunshine all the way. Heard from friends in Canada who are fuming mad each morning to scrap the snow off the windshield in the freezing cold and their hands just cant stand the cold for too long. Like you said transport all messed up. No need to talk about snow when it rains what we encounter here is traffic jams with snow haha can't imagine? TQ

Dear Kikey - Although we have had the snow here in the middle of England they managed to clear most of the major road and grit them fairly well. Years ago they used to clear almost every road and grit them all regularly - but this puts up the council taxes and with the economic climate being what it is there are very few who now want to pay more to have their roads cleared.

Also - we have very strange snow in this country. I have travelled in Norway and their snow is dry compared to our wet offerings. Snow over here tends to go slushy then freeze - whereas in Norway, Austria, Germany, Sweden etc the snow is fine and powdery and compacts well - it is safer to drive on.

Now don't think that I am making excuses - London after all is a city of business - perhaps someone should have a word with Boris!

Did you have a lovely Christmas this year? I can see you have had some wonderful trips to some lovely places.

I hope that you manage to see some of the more unusual places.

Happy 2010 to you dear Kikey - I hope that you have a most wonderful year.

Lots of Love - Koggers x

LOL... poor Kikey. :( Londoners never changed. Even back in the 80s, they don't plow...cuz it hardly snow in London. They waited for the snow to melt instead... :( You poor thing. Please take care, and be safe. Looking forward to your return to Malaysia in CNY. Hopefully, i can arrange some time to meet up with you. :-0

Thanks for the enlightening post. Snow sure can be a nuisance for those who never stayed long enough in such countries.

For people like me who is living in tropical, I see snow as something fun. =p
